Publication Ethics

        In order to strengthen the ethical principles and code of conduct during the process of journal publishing, ensure impartiality, authenticity and innovation of academic research, and maintain academic integrity, the editorial office of the Journal of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering formulates the following publishing ethics by referring to the relevant laws and standards, including Copyright Law of the People's Republic of China, Academic Publishing Specification —  Definition of Academic Misconduct for Journals" (CY/T174-2019), and the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications, as well as the guidelines formulated and published by the International Committee on Publishing Ethics (COPE).

         1. Duties of Authors

        1)When submitting a manuscript to the Journal, authors must agree to the Copyright Transfer Agreement (CTA), indicating that authors grant all copyrights among other relevant rights of the manuscripts to the Journal upon acceptance.

        2Authors should provide reliable results of the research, and ensure that the submitted manuscript does not contain any information prohibited from publication, and also comply with the relevant laws, regulations and policies in China.

        3Authors should ensure that the research results presented in the submitted manuscript are completely original. Any academic misconduct, including duplicate publications, plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, is unacceptable. And the use of generative AI or AI-assisted technologies, such as ChatGPt, ERNIE Bot, is not permitted in the writing process.

        4Authors should ensure that the submitted manuscript does not infringe on the rights and interests of third parties and does not have any potential conflicts of interest.

        5An author should not in general submit a paper that has been published in another journal previously. Also, submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently constitutes unethical behavior and is unacceptable.

        6)Authors should ensure that no inappropriate co-authors are included on the paper, and all authors are in principle listed in a descending order of contributions.

        7)When an author discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in his own published work, it is the author’s obligation to promptly notify the editorial office of the Journal, and cooperate with the editors to retract the paper or make a statement of corrigendum if deemed necessary by the editor.

        8Authors should respect the suggestion of reviewers, and can file a complaint with the editorial office if they have any objections.

        9Authors should respect editors’ work and have the obligation to correct the manuscript in accordance with the editorssuggestions or requirements within the agreed time.

         2. Duties of Reviewers

        1)Reviewers must adhere to the principles of fairness and impartiality in evaluating scientific novelty, innovative and practical research of manuscripts with their expertise. They should make fair evaluation of methods, designs, results and conclusions of research in the manuscripts and also provide detailed and constructive feedback to improve the manuscript.

        2Reviews should be conducted objectively. Reviewers should be aware of any personal bias and evaluate the manuscript regardless of the race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

        3)Reviewers should consult the editors before agreeing to review a manuscript where they have potential conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with any of the authors, companies, or institutions connected to the manuscripts.

        4The review of manuscripts should be returned within the proposed or mutually agreed time-frame. Reviewers should always notify the editorial office promptly and return the manuscript if their circumstances change and they cannot fulfill their original agreement. Reviewers cannot entrust others to review on their behalf without approval of the editorial office of the Journal.

        5)Any manuscript received for review must be treated as confidential documents. Reviewers must not share the review or information about the manuscript with anyone. Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in a reviewer’s own research without the express written consent of the author. Privileged information or ideas obtained through peer review must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage.

         3. Duties of Editors

        1Editors should keep in mind the purpose of the Journal and the policies of objectivity and impartiality. They should evaluate any manuscript for its intellectual content and decide whether it is acceptable, taking into account scientific novelty, innovative and practical research, as well as relevance of a manuscript against the readerships perception and Journal's effect.

        2Editors should firstly check all submitted manuscripts to avoid academic misconduct of duplicate submission and duplicate publication. Manuscript with such academic misconduct must be rejected.

        3Editors must protect the confidentiality of all material submitted to the Journal and all identities of reviewers, authors and other relevant persons.

        4Editors should respect the author's research results, keep the author's research content confidential, and shall not disclose any information about the manuscript to others. Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor's own research without the express written consent of the author.

        5Editors shall select reviewers who have suitable expertise in the relevant field, taking account of the need for appropriate, inclusive and diverse representation. The editor shall ensure that the peer review process is fair, unbiased and timely. 

        6Editors should work to safeguard the authenticity of the review record, and have an obligation to keep confidential all information about review and revision.

        7Editors should fully respect the author's voice and writing style, and can deliver substantial improvements without undermining the original works essence. Any revision of manuscript content should approved by authors.

        8When a manuscript is recommended for revision or rejection, the reason for the recommendation should be provided as detailed as possible.

        9Editors should treat complaints of readers and authors carefully, and have the responsibility to verify and investigate of all complaints, and respond in a timely manner.

        10If a published paper is verified to be with academic misconduct, editors should issue a notice of retraction on both the official website and the Journal, and all data about the paper will be removed from relevant database, so as to terminate the further dissemination and eliminate the adverse effect.
