        2. Submission Guidelines

Please submit your articles via the Author Login portal on www.kygczz.com.

It usually takes two to three months for authors to get informed about the final review result, and it will take more time for some special manuscript. If authors haven’t received any information after three months, they can contact the editorial office and  have the manuscript left to their discretion.

Submission of an article implies that the work described has not been published previously, and also is not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Any article, if found to have misconduct including plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and improper signature, or found to be submitted to more than one journal or have the same technical achievement published in another journal previously, will be unaccepted.

        3. Copyright Statement

The abstracting and indexing database providers at home and abroad are granted permissions to reproduce, compile, and distribute the full text of articles published in our journal in digital format on their official websites and associated database. Also, as an open access journal, it provides users free, unrestricted access to download all its published articles. No other charges will be paid to the author, except one-time remuneration and royalty fee by the journal in accordance with the relevant regulations. Any author who submits a manuscript to the journal for publication is deemed to have accepted the above terms.

        4. Peer Review Process

The peer review process is a vital component of academic research and publishing. It serves as a quality control mechanism to ensure that scholarly articles meet rigorous standards of accuracy, validity, and significance. It includes the following steps:

        Step 1: Submission

The first step begins with the submission of a research manuscript to our journal through the online submission system.

        Step 2: Editorial Assessment

After the manuscript is submitted, the handling editor of the journal performs an initial assessment. This assessment involves evaluating the manuscript’s fit with the journal’s scope, overall quality, and adherence to formatting guidelines, as well as checks on plagiarism. If the manuscript meets these criteria, it proceeds to the next step.

        Step 3: Peer Review

If the manuscript passes the initial assessment, the editor assigns it to at least two experts in the field for double-blind peer review. The reviewers thoroughly evaluate the manuscript’s content, methodology, originality, and significance, and provide constructive feedback to improve the manuscript.

        Step 4: Decision

Once the peer review is completed, the editor-in-chief gives decision regarding the manuscript based on the feedback received, which falls into three categories: acceptance, revisions and rejection.

The manuscript requiring revisions should be improved according to the provided feedback. And the revised manuscript requires editor’s re-evaluation and further peer review before a final decision can be made.

After a manuscript has been accepted for publication, the author will receive an official acceptance letter from the editorial office.

5.Statement on the Use of Generative AI (GenAI)

GenAI cannot be named as an author on the publication. All authors should be natural persons who have made substantial intellectual contributions to scientific research in the submitted papers, and shall bear full responsibility and accountability for the entire content of manuscript, including accuracy, integrity, originality and adherence to academic standards.

GenAI can only be used to provide tailored support for tasks in preparation of a manuscript, such as language improvement, literature retrieval and data collation, but can never be used as a substitute for human critical thinking, expertise and evaluation, such as research methods, experimental results, analysis and discussion, as well as conclusions. Furthermore, AI tools must not be used to synthesize data for the purpose of compensating for missing data, or alter any form of data, including research outcomes or references.

When AI-generated text, ideas, or images are included in the manuscript, they must be clearly cited and attributed. The tool name, version, date and provider should be disclosed with a description of when and how the tools were used. Editors or peer reviewer should not upload manuscripts (or any parts of manuscripts) into GenAl tools or services, nor shall they rely solely on GenAI to review the submitted manuscripts and give the final decision or suggestions.

        6. Article Publishing Charge

Upon acceptance of the manuscript, an author has to pay an article publishing charge (APC), which is typically set on a per-page basis, varying from¥800 to¥1200 based on the following criteria:

        (1)More APCs are required, if the author applies for expedited publication in less than 3 months;

(2)More APCs are required, if an article contains too many complicated figures and tables, which takes extra time for processing.

        7. Article Sharing

Mining and Metallurgical Engineering is an open access journal and applies a CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license to its articles. The license permits any non-commercial use of the content without permission, provided the original work is not modified or adapted in any way, and the author and source are cited.

For any commercial use or republication, written permission must be obtained from the journal's editorial office.

        8. Digital Archiving

To ensure security and traceability of journal data, all relevant materials including the print and electronic versions of each issue are properly backed up and archived by the editorial office of Mining and Metallurgical Engineering.

Full texts of all articles published since the founding of the Journal (1981) are available for free download via the official website (www.kygczz.com). Besides, all articles in the past issues are archived in the major Chinese academic databases, such as China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Wanfang Data Platform, and CQVIP Chinese Journals Platform, where readers can also retrieve and access all journal articles online.

        9. Corrections and Retractions

The published articles, whether online or in print, are deemed final versions, and requests for corrections or retractions are generally not accepted. In the event that a correction or retraction is indeed required under special circumstances, the following procedure shall be followed:

        (1) Corrections

If there is unintentional error that do not affect the outcomes and conclusions of the research, the author(s) may submit a correction request. Upon review and confirmation by the editorial office, a correction notice will be published in the corresponding section of the Journal, clearly specifying the revised content and the source of the original article. Meanwhile, an updated version of the article will be released with details of the changes from the original version and the date(s) on which the changes were made. The original version is archived for readers' reference, and the citation should be linked to the most recent version.

        (2) Retractions

If there is clear evidence of major errors that compromise the reliability of the findings, or there exists suspected  intentional misconduct, such as plagiarism or data fabrication, publications should be considered for retraction. A notice of retraction will be published promptly by editorial office, and those database platforms where the article has been archived will also be informed for removal of the retracted article.
